ZARU

ZAR Universal (ZARU) is a single-currency stablecoin pegged 1:1 to the South African rand (ZAR), issued by BlockTower South Africa (Pty) Ltd (FSP No. 55172), a licensed Financial Services Provider authorised by the Financial Sector Conduct Authority (FSCA). ZARU is deployed on the Solana, Ethereum, Base and Circle ARC blockchain. Every ZARU token in circulation is backed by rand-denominated reserves held in segregated accounts at Standard Bank of South Africa, with reserve management overseen by Sanlam Specialised Asset Manager as the asset-liability manager (ALM). Monthly independent reserve attestations are conducted by Moore Johannesburg Inc. and published publicly. ZARU is designed to serve as institutional-grade digital settlement infrastructure for financial institutions, payment service providers, fintechs, and cross-border commerce across Africa.
